RECEIVING JESUS


JOHN 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
THE ASSUMPTION IS THAT THE JEWS ON THE DAY OF THE CROSS DID NOT RECEIVE JESUS. HOWEVER SCRIPTURES SAY THAT THEY NOT ONLY RECEIVED HIM, BUT THAT THEY ALSO WOULD THAT DAY, BELIEVE ON HIM.

RECEIVING JESUS THROUGH ONE BEING SENT.

JOHN 13:20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
NOTE THAT THE REQUIREMENT IS IN RECEIVING WHO IS SENT BY JESUS. NO REQUIREMENT AS TO THE PURPOSE OR REASON THAT JESUS SENT THEM.

JOHN 13:27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
JESUS SENT JUDAS TO THE HIGH PRIESTS TO BETRAY HIM. "WHOMSOEVER I SEND" "RECEIVETH ME."

JESUS DID SEND JUDAS, AS THE SCRIPTURES HAD TO BE FULFILLED. JUDAS HAD A PART IN THOSE SCRIPTURES.

ZECHARIAH 11:12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
ZECHARIAH 11:13 And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.

THE TABLE OF VOMIT


ISAIAH 28:8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
AS THE COMMUNION TABLE IS SET BEFORE US. SO IS IT BEFORE ALL. BUT UNTO THE JEWISH THE DAY OF THE CROSS, IT WAS AS VOMIT. TO DRINK BLOOD WAS STRICKLY FORBIDDEN, SO THE DISCIPLES COULD HAVE ALSO FELT THIS WAY.

THE DISCIPLES WERE ALSO JEWS. THE JEWISH HOUSE AT THIS POINT HAD NOT RECEIVED HIM, AS JUDAS WAS NOT YET SENT.

LUKE 22:17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
LUKE 22:18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
LUKE 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
LUKE 22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
LUKE 22:21 But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
THIS IS THE WAY THE JEWISH PRIESTS FELT ABOUT HIM AND THE TABLE THAT WAS BEFORE ALL TO COME TO JESUS.

PROVERBS 26:11 As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.
THE JEWS RETURNED TO JESUS THE DAY OF THE CROSS. EVEN THOUGH THEY BELIEVED ON HIM AND KNEW WHO HAD SENT HIM. THEY WOULD RETURN TO THEIR FOLLY OF APPEARING AS THEY NEEDED MORE PROOF.

JOHN 8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, "" then "" shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
JESUS CLEARLY STATED WHEN THEY WOULD KNOW THAT HE WAS CHRIST, VERSE 8:22 SHOWS HE WAS SPEAKING TO THE JEWS.

PSALMS 78:34 When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and inquired early after God.
PSALMS 78:35 And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.
PSALMS 78:36 Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.
JESUS HAD SLEW THEM, IN UNBELIEF. CLAIMING ONLY CEASAR AS THEIR KING. BUT THEY RETURNED TO HIM:

MARK 15:31 Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. (HE HAS THE POWER TO TAKE UP HIS LIFE: JOHN 10:18)
MARK 15:32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe.(THEY FLATTER HIM.) And they that were crucified with him reviled him.

ZEPHANIAH 3:7 I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.

ZEPHANIAH 3:8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the Lord, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

SILENCE



PSALMS 28:1 Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.


PSALMS 91:15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
PSALMS 91:16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

WHEN GOD SAID HE WOULD ANSWER HIM IN PSALM 91:15, HE DID. BUT THE ANSWER WAS SILENCE. WE DON'T GENERALLY ACCOUNT SILENCE AS AN ANSWER, BUT THAT IS WHAT IT IS WHEN ASKED OR CALLED UPON AND WE CHOOSE NOT TO RESPOND.

2TIMOTHY 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

I BELIEVE SCRIPTURES SHOW THAT JESUS WENT TO HELL. SCRIPTURES ALSO SHOW THAT JESUS DID CRY UNTO GOD FROM THE CROSS.

MATTHEW 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

AS JESUS DOES CRY OUT TO GOD. GOD IN PSALM 91:15 DID SAY HE WOULD ANSWER. JESUS MUST GO TO HELL TO FULFILL SCRIPTURES. THEREFORE GOD'S ANSWER MUST AT THIS POINT BE SILENCE.

WHAT I THEREFORE CONCLUDE AS THE LESSON THAT GOD DESIRES US TO LEARN IN THESE VERSES IS THAT WHEN WE IGNORE ANOTHER IT IS NO DIFFERENT THEN TELLING THAT PERSON TO GO TO HELL.

IT IS CERTAINLY EASER TO SEE FROM THE IGNORED SIDE THEN FROM THE SIDE OF THE IGNORER. GOD DID NOT LINK VERSES TOGETHER, WITH NO PURPOSE IN MIND, BUT FOR DOCTRINE, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, AND FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS.
